The Nehemiah Principles For Podcast Success
These leadership principles, derived from the story of Nehemiah in the Bible, can be a valuable guide for podcasters.
One of my favourite people is Mobolaji MOB Bamidele and on a recent visit to Gracemade Christian Centre to speak about Success, he mentioned the Nehemiah Success Principles. Listen to the episode here.
That got me thinking. How would this apply to Podcasting?
These are my condensed thoughts.
The Nehemiah Success Principles are a set of leadership principles that come from the story of Nehemiah, who led the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem.
They are all about having a clear vision, planning, preparing, persevering, building partnerships, and taking time for reflection or prayer. And I think these principles can definitely apply to podcasting!
For example, as a podcaster, it's important to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve with your podcast. Do you want to educate, inspire, or entertain your audience? Once you have a vision, you can create a plan for each episode, including topics, guests, and format.
Preparation is also key, just like Nehemiah did when he gathered resources and built a team. As a podcaster, you should research your topics and prepare questions for guests. And of course, you need to make sure your equipment is working properly!
But sometimes, challenges and setbacks can arise. That's when perseverance comes in - just like Nehemiah, you need to stay committed to your vision and keep going even when things get tough.
Building partnerships and community is also important. As a podcaster, you can build relationships with other podcasters, guests, and your audience to create a sense of support and community.
Taking time for reflection or prayer can help you maintain mental and emotional balance amidst the stress and demands of podcasting.
So, those are some ways you can apply the Nehemiah Success Principles to podcasting. Do you have any thoughts or questions about this?
The story of Nehemiah can be found in the Old Testament of the Bible, in the book of Nehemiah. It is the 16th book in the order of the books of the Old Testament, and it comes after the book of Ezra. The book of Nehemiah tells the story of Nehemiah, a Jewish cupbearer to the Persian king Artaxerxes, who becomes the leader of the Jewish people and oversees the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem.
